In 2002 I received an MA in counseling from Pacifica Graduate Institute, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
After graduate school, I worked in community mental health, where I was fortunate to work with people from a very diverse population, and with a vast array of concerns. I started my private practice in 2003, in the cozy Ravenna office I still occupy today.
I love my work because it is very rewarding. It is a great honor to both witness and guide my clients as they struggle through unresolved emotional pain, then heal and transform. I am continually touched, moved and amazed by my clients’ resilience, creativity and integrity in the face of great suffering. I just can’t imagine more fulfilling work.
I value lifelong learning and I am continuously honing my skills so that I can be the most effective therapist possible. In that regard, I have pursued extensive continuing education in Self Relations, Object Relations, buddhism/mindfulness, trauma work, attachment theory and somatic (body centered) psychotherapies. I am currently pursuing certification to be a trauma specialist through Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. There is more information about my approach to working with clients here.
